Italian curriculum

42 lessons from A1 to B2. Each level is built on the level description of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), has a mock exam in the format of the official one, and every part of that exam is linked to the lessons that teach it.

The curriculum prepares you for the level and the exam. The official certificate is awarded by the body that runs the exam, not by the platform.

Lessons (10)

  1. A1.1 Lesson 1: Introducing Oneself and Greetings

Greet people correctly, say who you are, where you are from and how old you are — and learn to read Italian out loud from day one.

  2. A1.2 Family and Home: Describing Family and House

Talk about your family, describe where you live, say what is and is not in a room, and get Italian possessives right — including the exception that trips up almost every beginner.

  3. A1.3 Shopping and Meals: How to Buy Groceries and Order Food

Shop at a market, order at a café, ask what things cost, and describe what you eat — while unlocking two thirds of all Italian verbs in a single rule.

  4. A1.4 Daily Routine and Work Schedules

Tell the time, talk through your day from waking up to going to bed, and finish the Italian verb system — all three regular conjugations done.

  5. A1.5 The City and Transportation

Ask where something is, follow the directions you get back, buy a train ticket, and give instructions yourself — the first unit where you tell someone to do something.

  6. A1.6 Modal Verbs and Free Time Activities

Say what you can do, what you have to do and what you want to do — ask for things politely, invite someone, and turn an invitation down without sounding like you are dodging.

  7. A1.7 Describing People and Things in Italian

Describe someone in full — appearance and character — say what colour and size a thing is, and ask "who", "what", "which" and "how many" with the right form.

  8. A1.8 ITA.A1.8: Il Passato Prossimo (Talking About the Past)

Talk about yesterday, last week and last year — ask someone what they did, and tell a story in order rather than in separate sentences.

  9. A1.9 Weather and Seasons

Ask what the weather is like and answer, read a forecast without getting lost in it, and join two ideas into one sentence for the first time.

  10. A1.10 At the Doctor's and at the Pharmacy

Say you are unwell, point to what hurts and for how long, buy medicine and understand the dosage — and link sentences with because, when, in order to and if.

  3. B1.3 Travel and Stories (B1.3)

  7. B1.7 Health, Environment and Society (Salute, Ambiente e Società)

Learn the Italian future tense, talk about what will happen and what you intend to do, state the purpose and the consequence of an action, and follow environmental and public-health vocabulary as it appears in real texts.

  8. B1.8 Media, Current Affairs and Technology

Read an Italian news story and actually understand it, report it to someone else in the right tense, and summarise it in six lines with the source attached.

The closing unit of B1: talk about your plans for the years ahead, mark how certain you are about what you predict, and answer "where do you see yourself in five years?" with a structured answer rather than an improvised one.

Lessons (11)

  1. B2.1 Arguing and Debating in Italian (B2)

Build an argument that holds together, disagree without giving offence, and finally get comfortable with the Italian subjunctive — the one form that separates being understood from sounding Italian.

  2. B2.2 The Advanced World of Work

Take part in a meeting and make proposals in it, write minutes and a formal letter to a company, and negotiate pay and conditions using the conditional instead of a blunt request.

  3. B2.3 Civic Rules, Regulations and Reported Speech in Italy

Read an official Italian document and know which office issued it, name your rights and obligations as a resident, and report what somebody else said with complete accuracy.

  4. B2.4 Unit ITA.B2.4: Environment and Globalization

Say "if we had done it" about a chance that has gone, connect a cause to its effect in a single sentence, read a specialist text on the environment and write a reasoned recommendation.

  5. B2.5 Literature and Narrative (Passato Remoto)

Read an Italian novel and follow its verbs, tell the tense of events from the tense of background, write the opening of a story, and talk about a book using the right critical vocabulary.

  6. B2.6 Science and Technology in Research and Work

Read a scientific article and a newspaper headline, explain a process step by step, and write an expository text with no "I" anywhere in it.

  7. B2.7 Culture and Identity

Tell the story of your experience abroad instead of compressing it into one sentence, name your legal situation with the right word, and report a whole interview with every tense, pronoun and time reference correctly shifted.

  8. B2.8 Italian Art and Heritage: Artwork Analysis and Critical Terms

Read the wall panels in an Italian museum, talk about a work of art in precise terms, and compress two sentences into one without losing anything.

  9. B2.9 Economy and Law (B2)

Read a contract and know what you are agreeing to, understand an official letter and work out exactly what it asks of you, and write a formal notice grounded in a legal reference.

  10. B2.10 Italy in the World and International Relations

The final lesson of the course: build a layered argument, move between registers according to the situation, write a hundred-and-fifty-word opinion piece, and read a journalistic or academic text.

  11. B2.11 In Hospital: Healthcare Work

الدرس ده مخصص للكوادر الطبية والتمريض اللي هيشتغلوا في المستشفيات والمراكز الصحية في إيطاليا. هتتعلم إزاي تعمل تسليم وتسلم للشيفت (passaggio di consegne)، تقرا وتسجل في الملف الطبي (cartella clinica)، تطلب أدوية من الصيدلية، وتبلغ دكتور القسم بحالة المريض باحترافية وأسلوب مهني مهذب.
